Tomb Raider Remake on PSP Cancelled
|
Internet video was the real deal, but the game has been cancelled
Back in September 2005, a financial release from SCi Entertainment revealed unannounced releases coming from their recent purchase, Eidos Interactive.
Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition, believed to be a remake of the original game, was named as a summer 2006 release on PSP.
A remake of the first Tomb Raider game, originaly out in 1996, is a long heard wish from many fans worldwide. And when a trailer
detailing an apparent Tomb Raider remake surfaced on Google and YouTube with a Core Design logo stamped on, last week, many
hearts of Tomb Raider fans begun beating faster.
Today in a clarification by Core Design it became clear that "Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition" has been officially cancelled by SCI very recently.
Official clarification by Core:
"Following speculation on the internet, we would like to offer the following clarification.
The video of Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition that appeared on certain sites was an unauthorised release of an internal presentation of a game that was being developed by Core Design until very recently. It was running on PSP and used a Core-developed engine. However, following a recent review this project has been officially cancelled by SCi"
Note: Tomb Raider News Channel will NOT make the video available for download.
